Hungry Bug Privacy Policy
Effective October 21, 2026
Hungry Bug is an app for young children made by The Weekend Companies LLC ("we"). This policy explains what information the app uses. The short version: we don't collect any personal information, and there are no accounts or chat. The only way out of the app is the home-screen ad; links behind it go to an advertiser, never to anything run by us.
What stays on the device
The app saves your butterfly count (the high score), whether sound is on, and whether Remove Ads was bought. This is stored only on the device and is never sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.
The spoken words are short voice recordings built into the app (recorded ahead of time with AI text-to-speech), so nothing is sent anywhere to make them. The app does not use the microphone, camera, location, contacts or photos.
Advertising
The free version shows a small banner ad on the home screen only, never during play. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, and every ad request is marked as directed to children under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), with:
- no personalized or interest-based advertising and no remarketing,
- ads limited to content rated for general audiences (G),
- no advertising identifier: the app does not ask for tracking permission on iPhone or iPad, and it blocks the advertising ID on Android.
To show an ad, Google receives basic technical information such as the device's IP address, device type and operating system version. Google uses it to deliver ads, count impressions and prevent fraud, as described in how Google uses information in ads and Google's rules for child-directed requests. We don't receive information that identifies you or your child.
Remove Ads purchase
Grown-ups can remove ads with a one-time in-app purchase. A grown-up check (a written math question) appears before any purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see payment details. The app only learns whether Remove Ads was bought, so it can turn ads off and restore the purchase on a new device.
Children's privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app has no way for a child to enter any. If you believe information about your child has reached us, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the effective date above.
